Calligraphy & Font Development
Project Details

This is a compilation of a typography exercise called Typecooker starting with 3 "recipes" for typefaces and then sketching letters out according to those recipes. I then chose one sketch and developed it into a typeface using FontLab.

Here are the three recipes that I chose:

1. width: normal
2. weight: plain
3. construction: roman
4. stroke endings: straight, no serif
5. contrast type: translation (broad nib)
6. contrast amount: low contrast

1. width: condensed
2. weight: book
3. construction: roman
4. stroke endings: a serif
5. contrast type: expansion (pointed nib)
6. contrast amount: quite some contrast

1. width: normal
2. weight: black
3. construction: roman
4. stroke endings: a serif
5. contrast type: translation (broad nib)
